Bonus New Year's Blog: Don't Drink and Drive!

Don’t drink and drive for all these reasons:

1. It’s dumb- you are literally dumber when you drink. So that means you cannot react as fast when driving, and it will be more difficult to avoid the other drunk drivers.
2. It can get you or someone else hurt – Alcohol related car accidents accounted for about 35% of all car crash fatalities. That is completely preventable.
3. You will get caught – Cops are always out in full force during this time. I can think of 4 friends under 30 years old that have had DUI’s.

A New Year's Resolution Plan

Every year, millions of people set out to make great New Year’s resolutions, promising to improve their lives. Often though, those initial resolutions lose their New Year heat, and come the next year many are wondering whatever happened to the resolution. There are many reasons why intentions go by the wayside, but I believe one of the biggest issues is the fact that people don’t know what to change, how to change, and how to make sure they see results. I would like to offer an action plan for your resolutions this year to ensure that change.

Tips for Premature Ejaculation

To the men of the world, I want to say something: It’s okay. Premature ejaculation happens to a lot of men. Don’t worry-- it’s not a medical problem. Premature ejaculation can happen at different periods in your life, and if you’re with someone who makes you feel bad about reaching orgasm too early, then maybe you should rethink being with that person. Here are some tips for premature ejaculation:

1. Wear a condom.

Advice for Surviving the Holidays

Ah the holidays. The food, the gatherings, the craziness and the good times. The holidays can be a wonderful, but often they can also be filled with jealousies, family drama and a lot tension. In a few hours I will drive many hours to be in a house filled with people that think it is totally fine to comment on everything from my student loan debt to my eyebrow shape. I may love my family, but that doesn’t mean I always like them. However over the years and heartache, I have figured out a few things to do to calm down the tension, and make the holiday pleasant enough.

Emergency Contraception

One of the best things about working in public health is that you learn so many things, and then you can share that information with other people. For instance, did you know that there is a pill that a female can take up to 72 hours after unprotected intercourse to stop her from getting pregnant? Seriously! Some people know it as emergency contraception, others know it as the morning after pill, or Plan B, whatever you call it, it works and more people should know about it! There is a lot of confusion about it, so I want to provide answers to a few common questions.

Advice from Natalie, our College blogger!

Hey ladies! This is your freshwoman college student reporting to you with some advice that I've learned this first semester at college. First, it's always nice to start your day with a smile on your face. When you wake up, look at yourself in the mirror with the biggest grin you can. Remember that you are beautiful exactly how you are, and you don't need to let anything define you or your beauty. Second, since we're all beautiful and probably have a cutie or two "checking us out," it's important to watch out for your surroundings. 1 in 4 women in college experience sexual assault.

Christian Serratos of Twilight Poses for PETA

In the latest PETA campaign against cruelty to animals, 19 year old Christian Serratos (from Twillight) shows off her naked self in a dark forest, vowing that she would rather go naked than wear fur. This ad is odd to me for many reasons.
