The Age of Nudie SMS & Emails

I know it’s temping: you just started dating that “special someone” and it’s important to show them the flirtatious, sexy, possibly even adventurous side of your personality. You experiment with different angles and without consequence send the best scantily-clad shot to your cutie via text message, email, whatever. At the time you might feel like a 21st century Betty Page, but be for warned, 38% of teen girls and 39% of teen boys say they have had nude or semi-nude messages or emails—originally meant for someone else—shared with them . Despite a breech in privacy, tarnished reputation or guilty conscience, sexually suggestive messages are being sent. Some are due to coercion, others are due to freewill flirting and the pursuit of the opposite and/or same sex. Whatever your agenda, be aware that your body is not protected once it’s sent through text or cyberspace. Think before “message sent.” Will I regret this? Is he or she worth it? What type of self image do I want to project? Most importantly, love yourself and your body.
