Bonus New Year's Blog: Don't Drink and Drive!

Don’t drink and drive for all these reasons: 1. It’s dumb- you are literally dumber when you drink. So that means you cannot react as fast when driving, and it will be more difficult to avoid the other drunk drivers. 2. It can get you or someone else hurt – Alcohol related car accidents accounted for about 35% of all car crash fatalities. That is completely preventable. 3. You will get caught – Cops are always out in full force during this time. I can think of 4 friends under 30 years old that have had DUI’s. 4. You can’t afford it – court fee are around 1,800 dollars, plus a 48 hour term in jail, 6 month driver’s license suspension and the DUI school. 5. It’s never worth it- Pay the 50 dollars for a cab, or spend the night at a friend’s. Nothing is worth putting your or someone else’s life at risk simply because you wanted to drive. Tips on how to party smart: 1. Figure out the designated driver, and make sure that person is reliable. 2. Have a cab company’s number in a cell phone, just in case. 3. Carry cash on your body, not just in a wallet. 4. Keep an eye out for you friends- don’t leave without any of them. 5. Be extra careful if you decide to have sex. Use protection, and make sure that you are using it properly.
