It’s still a recession, and Valentine’s chocolates and greeting cards are expensive. This year, get creative and sing the praises of your love with a love letter. As anyone who has had the unfortunate experience of dating me knows, I adore love letters and hold on to them forever. Rereading them can take me back to moments in time, memories of my first of many loves. What could be a better gift on this over commercialized holiday than a non commercial, completely heartfelt beautiful ode to romance? Love letters are a perfect way to demonstrate creativity, passion and literacy for free! Not sure how to go about it? I provided a nice ad-libs type template for you convenience. In case you want to write a sad love letter, just replace all the happy parts with poisonous words. Enjoy! Dearest _____ (Name of person here), Since you came into my life I no longer need ______ (type of entertainment), __________ (type of food) nor ________ (former celebrity crush), all I need is you. When I hear your name, my soul begins to ____ (action of longing) and I become overwhelmed with my desire to ______(one of the five senses) you. In these moments, when I am in public and without you I must allow that passion to subside, for fear of overwhelming the world with my _____ (passionate feeling) for you. When I think about you, my heart and mind begin to _____ (action) and I am unable to _____ (description of a normal human being action). You must know how I feel by the look of _____ (passionate feeling) in my eyes. When we part, I feel _____ (synonym for sad) and when we are together I am consumed by _________ (synonym for happy). The thought of your image throws me into a _____(particular state of mind) and the __________ (description of a flavor) of your words will forever stay in my heart. To my _________(term of affection) on this most ______ (description ) of Valentine’s Day’s, I wish to ____ (verb regarding talking loudly) about how much I _____ (verb for feeling) you from the rooftops, but I think this simple card will do.
