Relationship Violence Affects the Reproductive Health of Teens

Share!

Has your partner ever forced you to have sex without a condom or sabotaged your birth control? There are many teens out there whose reproductive health has been jeopardized by an abusive partner. In an abusive relationship, sometimes it can be hard to refuse sexual activity or negotiate contraceptive use. Instead of writing about my own thoughts on this issue, I want you to check out the website knowmoresaymore.org. The site knowmoresaymore.org, is dedicated to young women who have had their reproductive health compromised by relationship violence. Relationship violence in teens is important to talk about because it can limit a girl’s ability to manage their reproductive health and expose them to sexually transmitted diseases (Family Violence Prevention Fund). At Know More, Say More, you can read stories from young women who have experienced sexual abuse in their relationships and find resources that can help you confront relationship violence or sexual coercion (which is when someone uses pressure or force to have sexual contact with their partner against their will). I really recommend checking out this site because relationship abuse is never okay and you should never have to compromise your health and what you want because of someone else.
