Calling all Chlamydia Activists! If you are a teen volunteer, or even work for a teen clinic, check out this awesome opportunity to get $20,000 to fight chlamydia in the 15-25 yr. old female population in your area! The Center for Disease Control and MTV are giving out NINE of these really big grants, and they wanna hear from yousmiley!~Check out the grant site at http://bit.ly/bCEriG.

Basically, you put together a proposal for how you would use $20k and the GYT Campaign materials to really reach out to the young women who live near you, using social media tools – like blogs, facebook, twitter, and myspace! Then submit the plan by Nov. 29th, 2010 (yep, that’s right! Better get movin’!) and they’ll letcha know. Questions? CTApplications@aed.org

Chlamydia is one of those sneaky STI’s – most of the time there aren’t any symptoms, and over half the girls/women who could get tested actually DO. Its super easy to treat (you take an antibiotic that kills it super fast) and most of the time the test is free in CA. Oh, and its REALLY common – it is the MOST reported STI among girls/women 15-25. Check out our STIs info for more the more in-depth DL.
