Protect Yourself from Prom Night

The school year is almost over and for many of us teens, this means one thing.  Yes, you guessed it. It is prom season –dress shopping, limo rides, dancing the night away, after parties – and I love it!

Right in line with this prom-craze atmosphere, is tomorrow’s National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy and the theme this year is PROM!

So my boyfriend, Andrew, and I have been dating each other for seven months. We have been talking a lot about sex lately, and how we think we are both ready. I have never had sex before, but my boyfriend has.  He told me he’s been with other girls before we started dating.

So my girl and I, we’re getting pretty serious. We’ve been together a while now and we’ve connected so much, physically and emotionally. I’ll admit, I’ve never felt this way about anyone before.

Masturbation. A topic often met with shifty eyes, uncomfortable seat position re-arranging, and overall subject changing. Despite no one ever talking about it, a survey from the University of Chicago reported that 38% of women said they’d masturbated, and 61% of men said they had. For all you CAP supporters or smart phone users out there, what do you think about a Condom GPS? Yes, that’s right. If you haven’t already heard about it, MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation teamed up with iCondom for an iCondom iPhone app.  When you download this app on your phone, you can search the closest places near you that sells or distributes condoms.

Over here at TeenSource, we are excited to announce the launch of CAP (Condom Access Project). We have teamed up with the CA Department of Public Health’s STD Control Branch (STDCB) to make sure you all have access to free condoms year round. This is great because this week is not only Valentine’s week, but it is also National Condom Week! SWEET!

We know that buying condoms from your local drug store can be expensive and picking it up at a clinic can be embarrassing. So starting today, if you are a CA teen you will be able to get condoms in one of two ways:

Teen Dating Violence: His Take

Oh February, the month of love. With all the chocolate, roses, and sappy cards being tossed about during Valentine’s Day today, it’s also important to keep in mind that relationships are dynamic and aren't necessarily always bunnies and rainbows. It takes tenderness, flexibility, and respect to make them work. With that in mind, February is now known as the national Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Awareness Month!
