"Today is for Tomorrow" is a campaign aimed at young women in California that focuses on preconception health and the importance of creating a healthy lifestyle today to improve health tomorrow. In addition to providing links to resources with useful information on ways to make healthy changes, the campaign incorporates the use of a social media contest that prompts young adults age 16-24 to share one small change they're making today for a healthier tomorrow.
Contestants participate by submitting a picture and brief description of a small change they make every day, and by sharing their change with others in their social networks and encouraging them to think about and share their own changes. The contest has two prize categories: a grand prize ($2,000 scholarship) awarded to the 'best overall' entry and a second prize (Wii Fit) awarded to the 'most viral influence' contestant who is able to engage the most participation from their social network.
The contest will be launched on May 31st and close on July 10, 2011. Please visit www.todayisfortomorrow.org/contest for more information!
