If having sex hurts, see a dr to check for STDs

If having sex hurts, see a dr; u might have an infection.

Some people don’t know they have an STD because they don’t have any signs or symptoms at all.  Some people do get symptoms.  Some of the common symptoms of STDs are:

  • Pain or burning when you pee
  • Pain or burning when you have sex
  • Bumps, blisters or sores on the penis or around the vagina or anus
  • Fluid coming out of the penis or vagina that looks or smells differently than it normally does

If you have any of these symptoms, get tested right away.  You can go to your doctor or to a teen-friendly clinic near you.   If they do find that you have an STD, you can get treatment at the clinic too.  If left untreated, STDs can cause serious health problems so it’s important to get treatment right away!
