HIV is often passed by ppl who don’t know they have it. Use a condom every time.

HIV is the virus that causes AIDS.  People who have HIV often don’t know they have it because they may not have serious signs or symptoms for many years.  Even if a person with HIV doesn’t know they have it, they can still pass it to another person.

HIV is passed from one person to another through body fluids (like semen “cum” and blood).  Because of this, it’s really easy to pass HIV to another person:

  • during vaginal, anal and oral sex
  • when people share needles for drugs, piercings, and tattoos

Condoms are very good at preventing the spread of HIV during vaginal, anal and oral sex if they are used correctly each and every time you have sex.

You can get condoms at most grocery stores, drug stores, and even gas stations.  You can get them for free or very cheap at a teen-friendly clinic near you. You can also get tested for HIV at the clinic.
