Is your birth control being sabotaged? Are you being pressured into unprotected sex? There is help.

Hookup Tip from Abegail, 17

Anyone can experience birth control sabotage, which can be verbal or physical.

Verbal sabotage is when one partner pressures the other not to use birth control. In these situations, the partner who is using pressure might insist that the only way the other partner could prove his/her love is by starting a family together.

Behavioral sabotage is tampering with or hiding the other partner's contraception.

Birth control sabotage is a form of sexual assault. It also contributes to higher pregnancy rates, especially among teenagers.

You deserve a healthy relationship based on mutual respect and consent. You have the right to use birth control and to wait until you are ready to start a family.
